Salt Water Fishing

Deep sea fishing excursions are plentiful and available at most resorts. 

Excursions can also be easily arranged at Larnaca marina. You will find the beautiful bay of Larnaca perfect 

for sailing around. There are many cruises available including swimming, snorkelling and a buffet as well, 

sometimes champagne is even included! 

You can go on a full day marine safari from Paphos harbour if the mood takes you! Enjoy the islands

Fresh Water Fishing

Cyprus has 23 dams which are well stocked with a huge variety of fish. The most well known dams are 

Achna dam, Asprokremmos dam, Evrarou dam, Kalavassos dam, Kouris dam and Mavrolymbos dam, many 

of which are open all year. 

A large inflow in early 2009 which has provided great opportunities for fishing many species. This is fantastic 

news and will improve fishing for many years to come! Please note: Due to this, some of the dams have 

been closed for fishing until levels become more acceptable again. The police and Fisheries Department in 

Cyprus have been cracking-down on illegal fishing in reservoirs so please check before you fish! You will 

need a licence for fishing in a dam or reservoir. Don't be put off, there are still many dams and reservoirs 

crammed with a huge aray of fish for you to catch! 

Fishing in Cyprus costs around 40-55 Euros per child and 60-75 Euros per adult. For this price you can fish 

all day if you like and it normally includes transfers, equipment, lunch and refreshments.
